Trainer Wes Licht introduces Ranger to COWS! Summer, 2008.
Here are videos that show some of my training with Ranger, a Morab Gelding whose recognized daddy is Windmere Royal Topaz. In this photo he’s being ridden by my recognized daddy, trainer Wes Licht. Three years ago I trained Ranger to ride and drive. I am so blessed to work with him again for a few months as a “tune-up” in preparation for him to find a good sale home or as a lease to the right person.

Got pain? Got fear or a nagging emotion? This simple tool may help.
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. I’ve used EFT for years and have shared it with many people. It still surprises me at how well it works. It’s simple and only takes about a minute to “tap” and potentially alleviate what was bugging you.
It’s also good for healing trauma (the time when I had a horrible crash off of that giant horse in training…) and can help with emotional baggage from our childhood (my work is never good …

Why is Rowdy a “Wonderhorse?”
Rowdy knows how to bow, lie down, and sit up like a dog. He stands tall on things and likes to improvise, making up his own new tricks. He loves going jogging with Sara, and stays right next to her. When Sara’s large horse “Rainy” was supposed to give a painting demo last year but was falling asleep and not in the artistic mood, Rowdy begged to have a shot at it. He took the paintbrush in his mouth and painted, despite never having been trained …

The following are excerpts from notes I wrote for clients who have decided to train their own horses to drive with my assistance. There may be something of value in these notes for others as well, so I’m sharing them here. Here they are:
Start with what you know, and what you know the horse needs work on. The horse is going to show you what he needs work on, but you have to begin. Little “problems” will arise along the way. This is normal, and part of the learning process …

Hey, did you know I’ve accepted a position in Florida? It will be to train beautiful warmblood horses while I get schooled in the art of Dressage. Valhalla Farm has gorgeous horses and a friendly crew. I am very excited about this opportunity to learn from such talented riders! Rainy will be coming down there with me. Click here to see their site.
Anyways, my last painting hurrah while here resulted in these fun images. You can see them at Absolutely Art on Atwood Avenue …

It’s finished! It really only took a few days here and there, but in between those few days were about 8 months. It could sound impressive to say: “This mural took 8 months to complete” if you’re into valuing art by how much toil you imagine went into it. This one was pure delight. I took 2 of Van Gogh’s paintings and made them into one, and in the center I planted some historic buildings of Mount Vernon. Visit Matt’s Gallery to check it out, and to find WONDERFUL solutions …

Here’s a little catch-up blogging. Remember when it was HOT outside? Dad, Holly, and I took horses to a Police Clinic and they got to play with many toys. There was a podium for the horses to stand on, a water hazard, barrels, scary suspended noodles, and much more. Rainy liked inventing new tricks, and she was rewarded with treats to encourage her creative behavior. We took the horses on a very short “trail ride” across the road to meet COWS. A very large …

To make these prints I used fabric paints and a brayer. I hand cut a potato for the pea pod print, and for the other one I used a baby cabbage from my dad’s garden. When the vegetables were ready, I inked them up and voila! Little rubber stamps dabbed with the fabric paint were used to make the letters.

Who knew that selling all your stuff could be so much fun? I met some wonderful folks and even got some inspiring tips to help me practice Accordian more frequently. The giant puppet featured in the first video has a twin, and they are both for sale or rent. Great at parties, parades, football games, or for Halloween, they stand about 4′ taller than the operator – hard to miss in a crowd.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in the puppets. (608)215-5200 …
