Sara worked with my Norwegian Fjord, Aron to add driving to his ‘resume!’ Aron and I are dressage partners, but he tends to be very sensitive and can overreact to things going on around him. Sara has such an intuitive sense about the horse and quickly gained Aron’s trust. All through his driving training, Sara kept a consistent routine of introducing Aron to the challenges he’d face as a driving horse while being sensitive to his limits. Her training methods meshed wonderfully with his dressage training… the result is that I have a lovely, calm and enjoyable driving pony who loves his job! Many, many thanks Sara!”

Sara helped me immensely with my Morgan/Arabian mare “Gracie.”  I had started Gracie myself, but due to the demands of my job I could only work with her 2-3 days per week.  Gracie was spooking and bolting at things that only she could see, and with my limited time we were not able to make progress.  Sara came highly recommended, so Gracie went to stay with her for 60 days.  Sara worked through many of Gracie’s fears, and she came home much more responsive to rein and leg.  Gracie now has an excellent one-rein stop, which came in really handy when we were nearly run over by a panicked whitetail buck!  When I had a good friend (who is a very experienced rider) ride Gracie, she paid me the ultimate compliment of saying, “This horse is really broke.”  Sara is now starting 2 Tennessee Walker horses for me, and I know that her methods are safe, humane, and effective.  I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing horse training services.

Sara Licht did an excellent job training my two horses to drive.  I am so impressed with how calm and patient, and yet firm she is with my horses.  Before Sara began to work with my 6 year old, he would bolt and run away when he was afraid or confused about learning something new – he is a big horse, so he got away with it before Sara started to work with him!  Sara knew how to patiently get Karner to trust her and want to work with her.  It is so wonderful to feel so safe driving and riding Karner now.  He is so well mannered.  I get compliments about him all the time!  I would highly recommend Sara as a horse trainer – she is a horse whisperer in my eyes!!

I have sent unbroke or green-broke horses to several trainers around Wisconsin over the years.  Sara Licht is my new favorite by far!  I would not hesitate to send my next horse to Sara.  I sent my pony mule to Sara for riding-and-driving training, and she met and exceeded my expectations.  She customized her training methods to meet his personality – the kind of flexibility I appreciate since every horse is a bit different.  Her communication with us as the owners was top notch – we received regular updates on his progress, health, etc.   She treated him like one of her own – he got as good if not better care with Sara than he would have at home!  “Diesel” thrived under Sara’s care – he absolutely LOVED working for Sara, and with all the time and attention he got with her, he came home to us a well trained and ready to work companion!  I highly recommend Sara Licht for equine training.

Sara,

Thank you for your emergency help on Saturday for Knee Knock and me with trailer loading issues.  The following day at Gov. Dodge I was forced to recall your directions – ie - breath deep and stay calm, don’t pull on him!!, tap on his shoulder until he moves forward and keep him straight while loading – to the letter.  KK went into the trailer after but a few protests.  We were both calm and happy when the task was complete.  The small performance from him was good for me.  I got through it with success and gained confidence in the doing.

It is worth noting:  Our work together has been beneficial in more areas than horses.  I would say the day you sat me on the pail and had me ‘ground’ myself before going any further with KK was the most useful.  I use that lesson with my students, waiting at checkouts, with family members (I try harder) as well as with Knee Knock.

KK has become a much nicer horse to be around and I like to think likewise of my self.  I have much to learn but  but the successes KK and I have gained with your help have made working with him much more fun.

Sara, I look forward to our future lessons.
